This Japanese Maple tree is brilliantly lit up by the afternoon sun

Kaeru

Kaeur means "frog" in Japanese. It also means "return" or "go back home". That is why frogs are lucky charms for gamblers in Japan -- The frogs are telling the money to come home with the gambler.

Maple_Bonsai

There was a Bonsai Exhibition at the garden when I was there and this was my favorite. It looks like a miniature forest

Portland_Mt_Hood

This is a view of part of the Portland Skyline with Mt Hood in the background. I wish the sky was just a little clearer so you could see the mountain better!

Water_Basin

I did not plant the maple leaf in the water! Though it looks so pretty, I'm sure someone did *grin*

Waterfall

This is the waterfall that tumbles into the Koi pond. It looks just lovely in the autumn!
